Getting Started — Quotes & Planning
Yes — we prepare and submit planning and building control applications as part of the job, or work alongside your architect if you already have one appointed.
It depends on size, groundworks and finish, but every job gets a fixed, written price after a free site survey — never a verbal estimate.
Yes. A member of the team visits, measures up, and talks through the brief with no cost or obligation before any quote is prepared.
Not necessarily — for straightforward extensions and loft conversions we can produce the drawings needed ourselves. For larger new builds we’re happy to work alongside an architect you’ve already appointed.
During The Build — On Site
A single-storey extension usually runs 10–14 weeks from groundbreaking to handover, depending on scale and weather.
In most cases yes. We’ll set out dust and access arrangements with you at the design stage so you know exactly what to expect.
Yes — a named project manager is assigned to your job from the first site visit through to handover.
We notify neighbours before disruptive work starts, keep working hours reasonable, and fence and sweep the site daily.
Money & Paperwork — Insurance & Guarantees
We hold £2m public liability insurance and the certificate is available on request. On accreditation we are being straight with you: applications for Federation of Master Builders membership and SafeContractor approval are in progress rather than granted, and we do not display those logos until they are. Gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers and electrical work is certified under Part P. A 10-year structural warranty can be arranged through a warranty provider on new build and extension work.
Payment is staged against agreed milestones set out in your written quote — never full payment up front, and never a surprise invoice at the end.
Any snagging identified at handover is closed out before we consider the job finished. Where a structural warranty has been arranged for your project, that cover continues afterwards.
